Security Issues of Power Line Multi-Home Networks for Seamless Data Transmission
نویسنده
چکیده
This paper provides discussion of security issues for power line networks (PLC). The home network based on power line communication has been used widely however security of PLC has not been discussed sufficiently. Though PLC uses power line as medium it has similar characterises with wireless communications in the view of security. The authentication and cryptographic scheme used in PLC standard are discussed. Also the usage of Intrusion Detection system (IDS) for PLC is discussed.

Security-Based Co-Expansion Planning of Gas and Electricity Networks Considering Demand Response
Coordinated expansion planning of power plants has always attracted the attention of power industry planners to arrive at the optimal mix that assures adequacy of energy supply. Here, we model the coordinates for expansion of electricity and gas networks while considering technical constraints, in order to minimize the total cost of investment and operation of electricity and gas networks for a...
متن کاملFraud Prevention and User Privacy in Mobile Computing (extended summary)
Recent years have seen an explosive interest in wireless (information) networks that support the mobility of subscribers (and/or terminals). These networks serve as a foundation of future universal, mobile and ubiquitous personal communications systems. Emerging wireless networks share many common characteristics with traditional wire-line networks such as public switched telephone/data network...
متن کاملPhysical Layer Security in PLC Networks: An Emerging Scenario, Other Than Wireless
We consider the secure transmission of information over power line communication (PLC) networks. The focus is on the secrecy guaranteed at the physical layer, named physical layer security (PLS). Although PLS has been deeply investigated for the wireless case, it is not the same for the PLC environment. Thus, starting from the knowledge in the wireless context, we extend the results to typical ...
متن کاملA survey on RPL attacks and their countermeasures
RPL (Routing Protocol for Low Power and Lossy Networks) has been designed for low power networks with high packet loss. Generally, devices with low processing power and limited memory are used in this type of network. IoT (Internet of Things) is a typical example of low power lossy networks. In this technology, objects are interconnected through a network consisted of low-power circuits. Exampl...
متن کاملIntroducing a New Method for Multiarea Transmission Networks Loss Allocation
Transmission loss allocation in very large networks with multiple interconnected areas or countries is investigated in this paper. The main contribution is to propose a method to calculate the amount of losses due to activity of each participant in the multi area markets. Pricing of cross-border trades in Multi area systems is often difficult since individual countries may use incompatible ...
